Sounding Into Spring
Pamela Holm, Voice and Singing Bowls
Recorded with a live audience at the James St. Wellness Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, on March 19, 2011.
Here are Pamela’s notes about the recording, which she produced as a CD:
This music is designed to help you to relax and open to letting go of the emotions and tensions held in your psyche and body. Improvised by singer/musician and music therapist, Pamela Holm, on March 19, 2011, it was inspired by the audience present and the recent earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. It will help you shift through sadness and trauma and open to your higher heart for compassion towards yourself and others.
How to use this recording
As it is designed for deep relaxation, please do not listen while driving or operating machinery. Best to be relaxed in a comfortable chair or lying down, with your cell phone turned off! Should you feel the need, crying is beautiful! Keep the tissue box handy. Allow yourself a few deep breaths, and should you feel some discomfort, allow yourself to acknowledge it, thank it for bringing you to this moment, and with a deep breath, let it go. Your mind will be more relaxed after and bring you greater clarity. Allow yourself a little extra time after the music is over to gently tune into your body and re-orient to your environment.
Performed by Pamela with crystal and Tibetan singing bowls. For those familiar with the chakras, they are tuned to open and relax each of the chakras starting with the higher heart, then down from the crown to the root and back up.
